Miller's Pond
Miller's Pond is a pleasant nature reserve situated in a secluded site containing semi-natural woodland and wildlife areas. The site is an important green open space within Sholing and is managed for both angling and wildlife. Sholing Valley's Student Centre, based in the area, are largely responsible for the park’s management and upkeep.
Location
Miller's Pond adjoins the shores of Southampton Water at Weston Point by 1.9km of continuous valley habitat. The northern edge of the park is marked by Station Road, while the railway and Portsmouth Road run along the southern edge.
From Miller's Pond the valley divides, and the two branches continue north and north-east, to Burseldon Road at Sholing Common and Weston Common respectively and then beyond towards the corridor of the M27. The valley is itself a semi-natural green, wooded space known as Shoreburs Greenway - also the name of the footpath.
